Glai Baan — Phoenix, Arizona
Glai Baan in Phoenix: Asian — a 'Very Thai' kitchen focusing on street food and snacks you would commonly find in Thailand, many dishes from the Isan (northeastern) region, with locally sourced produce and meat and no MSG (restaurant's own description) food.
Address2333 E Osborn Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85016
HoursTue–Thu 12–9 p.m.; Fri 12–9:30 p.m.; Sat 4–9:30 p.m.; Sun–Mon closed (per-day hours from the restaurant's official listing; its own site confirms lunch and dinner service on its open days)
Good to knowLunch and dinner Tuesday–Friday; SATURDAY IS DINNER-ONLY (opens 4 p.m.) and the restaurant is closed Sunday and Monday — never mark Saturday as a lunch stop. No kids menu appears on the restaurant's own menu. Spice flag in the restaurant's own words: Isan dishes come from a region 'where they like their food spicy,' and most dishes are designed to be shared — ask about mild options for children.
Dietary notesNo vegetarian or allergy statement was verified on the restaurant's own menu in text fetched, so no diet tags are claimed. The own menu is pork-forward (pork rind on the papaya salads, steamed local pork dumplings, minced pork dishes and crispy pork belly), so pork-free diners must ask the restaurant directly; pork-free guarantee NOT confirmed.
ReservationsThe restaurant's own site states: 'Reservations accepted only for dinner service. Lunch is first come first serve.' Dinner reservations are for parties of 1–7, made by calling Monday–Friday before 5 p.m. and leaving a message for a next-business-day callback.
