Official tipsPRICE RE-CHECK RESULT: Birds Houston (the renamed Houston Audubon) now states explicitly on its official FAQ: 'Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary in west Houston is open daily from 7 am to 7 pm, and admission is free.' The sanctuary's general admission is therefore FREE on current official evidence — the base data's 'Not confirmed / priceVal null' was correct for the old houstonaudubon.org pages, which stated no fee, and should now be updated to free with this source. Coastal (High Island) sanctuaries are a separate $10/person/day product and do not apply here. Leave No Trace applies: nothing may be removed from the site; fishing and swimming in the creek/ponds are prohibited; portrait photography requires pre-registration and a permit fee (nature photography is welcome). Lost items are held 30 days.
Seasonal notesSpring and fall migration are peak birding seasons (Houston Bird Week is in September). Road construction near Wilchester Blvd/Memorial Dr is in progress at check time (see parkingDetail).
